Getting There & Getting Around

Not to worry, you will not have to swim to your destination as Cayo Largo has modern airport facilities, Vilo Acuña, that caters to International flights.

Shuttle Bus: Transportation to the west beaches is available by shuttle bus. This is the most economical way to travel as it’s FREE! Shuttles leave the hotels at 9am, 10:30am and 11:45 with returning buses at 1:30pm, 3pm and 5pm.

Taxi: Taxis are available 24 hours a day for those who wish to travel more comfortably. All vacation packages and excursions come with shuttle transportation but you may opt for taking a cab. Transfers to the airport are 6 CUC while fare to the west beaches is 2 CUC/person.

Jeep Rental: To see more of the island its natural beauty you can rent a jeep (manual transmission) for 3 hours for 33 CUC or more time depending on your need. There is little traffic on the island and only a couple roads so it’s unlikely that you will get lost. Be careful when driving at night as there is a lack of street lights.

Attractions

Fiesta
Every Friday night in the village the entertainment team hosts a fiesta. Entrance is 4 CUC/person.

Pueblo Tour
This tour takes you through the village of El Pueblito with visits to the turtle farm and a museum of Cayo Largo’s history for only 6 CUC/person.

Tower’s Gardens
This small nursery grows many exotic plants native to Cuba and has some pets, two crocodiles that live in the pond!

Turtle Farm
This farm in the village collects endangered turtle eggs from the beaches then incubate and hatch them. Once they are ready to return to the wild they hold a special event in which tourists are encouraged to come and participate for a small fee of 3 CUC. Entrance to the farm is 1 CUC/person.

This restaurant is located in the village and has seafood options as well as tapas for a reasonable price.

La Movida
This disco is located in the village is a happening place for tourists wanting to get off the resort.

This old hotel has been transformed into an entertainment facility with bowling lanes, a billiards table, disco and karaoke.
