Have you ever pictured yourself standing among talent from around the world, swarming the food trucks and jamming out to the music as the hot Australian sunbeams down on you? If you have, you most likely have been to Australia to partake in this festival, but if not, you’re going to want to prepare yourself for next year’s festival. This grand festival I’m talking about is The Byron Bay Bluesfest, one of the best, and most notable music festivals in Australia.

Bluesfest, what the locals call it, was dreamed up just twenty-four years ago as a way to bring together musical talent from around the world. The festival is strictly a music festival that captures the essence of blues, roots, world and hybrid music. One of the lovely things about the sweet singing Bluesfest is that it’s in a wide-open field, with vendors, a big, colourful Ferris wheel and open spaces as far as the eye can see. Bluesfest is all about chilling out and embracing the beauty of the arts, with on-site camping, five performance stages, a variety of licensed bars and a beer garden and artist signings, there truly is ample reasons for you to set up a tent and stay the whole weekend long. Bluesfest is just a 15-minute drive from the Township of Bryon Bay, and is held every Easter weekend (beginning of April usually). From artists such as Australia’s most successful independent artist, John Butler Trio to Great Big Sea and everything in between.

After you’ve danced your little heart out, met a hippie or two, and sang the sweet blues, venture off to Byron Bay for the day to explore the majestic nature of the place. With quaint shops, a pristine beach and restaurants like no other you’ll be singing the sweet blues all the days of your life after this festival!
