This year has been less than ideal for skiing and snowboarding with barely any snow gracing our slopes. While many places use snow machines to cover their hills it’s just not the same as REAL snow. With temperatures rising every year maybe it’s time we take a hint from the Ski Dubai, an indoor ski resort in the Middle East.

This indoor ski resort in Dubai is the first of its kind in the Middle East and features 22,500 square meter covered in real snow, not that machine stuff. Best of all it’s open all year round for skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, bobsledding or just playing in the snow! This 25 story monstrosity has 5 different runs for those of all skill levels as well as a freestyle zone.

Featuring more than just skiing and snowboarding runs, it also has the largest Snow Park in the world. This amazing 3,000 square meters is covered in, you guessed it, snow! With twin bobsled tracks, tobogganing hills and an interactive snow cavern this park is fun for the whole family.

You’ll definitely want to stick around long enough for the March of the Penguins, not the movie but ACTUAL penguins! Ski Dubai’s free March of the Penguins will bring you close to a real colony of Gentoo and King Penguins and for a bit extra you can get up close and personal with these cute creatures.

If you’re in need for a rest, stop for a bit to eat or a hot beverage at the Avalanche Café. With an outdoor terrace where you can watch the slopes you won’t miss a thing while you melt into that cup of hot cocoa.
