The Height on NYC

Having visited New York multiple times throughout the years to spend the weekend shopping, getting lost in Brooklyn, falling in love with art at the MOMA or walking the modern, yet rustic path of the Highline, I’ve never actually been up the most famous tower in NYC. But that all changed over this past weekend, I was able to explore, along with thousands of other tourists, The Empire State Building.

The experience, well it was certainly amazing to say the least. From the second you wait in the first line, that connects you to the second, then up the first elevator, onto another line, up another elevator and finally up to 86th floor I took in just how magical this city really is. Though the lines are long, the structure of getting up to the top is certainly a well-planned out process, and after a short 45-minutes we made it to the observation deck. One of the perfect things about The Empire State Building is not only the fact that you can relive standing where the cast of How I Met Your Mother stood, or re-enact the memorable scenes of Sleepless in Seattle or When Harry Met Sally, but you get to take in the beauty of the city from up above.

And let me tell you, up above everything looks greener, cleaner and less crowded. The Empire State Building plans were thought up back in 1929, and through the years continue to showcase the majestic nature of a building so high up in New York. Tourists flock to get some height on New York City because the view is perfect; the building focuses on sustainable practices and the lights shine bright from up above.

No matter what time of day you travel up 86 floors to re-live a whole lot of perfection, you’ll fall in love with America’s Favorite Architecture site the second you stand in the first line, oh and trust me, it’s worth the wait.
